The nine-square-mile Wolf Trap area of Northern Virginia is a lovely residential community situated between Vienna and Tysons Corner in Fairfax County. By far the area’s most popular attraction is the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. The only national park of its kind, it is home of the Filene Center and the Wolf Trap Opera Company. More than 14,000 residents enjoy easy access to this national treasure as well as Fairfax County’s extensive parks and recreation system. There are 380 parks in the Fairfax County system. Facilities include eight indoor recreation centers, an equestrian center, a horticultural center, several off-leash dog parks, three lakes, eight golf courses, a skating rink and a water park. Hiking, fishing, tennis, golf and other sports are also popular. Fairfax County also produces Parks Plus, a local television show focused on recreational opportunities within the county.

For big city amenities, visitors and residents can make the 18-mile drive into nearby Washington, D.C. The largest industry providing employment in the community is professional services, followed by the education, health and social services sectors. Students in the area attend Fairfax County Public Schools and several colleges are nearby. These include Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., George Mason University in Fairfax, Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Marymount University in Arlington and the University of the District of Columbia.
